Terms of use

The terms on which we make this site available, and the limits of what it can tell you.

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Acceptance

By using Broadcast Prism, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

What the service is

Broadcast Prism is an informational tool that compares how UK television news channels cover the news. The topics, airtime figures, coverage gaps, and summaries are produced by automated analysis of broadcast transcripts, and may contain errors, omissions, or misclassifications.

The site is provided "as is" and on an "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the information is accurate, complete, or up to date, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time.

Not advice or a verdict

Nothing on this site is professional advice, and it is not a ruling on what is true. A story appearing on every channel is not automatically true, and one appearing on a single channel is not automatically false. The site shows where attention went — please don't rely on it as a sole source.

Acceptable use

You may read and link to the site freely. Please do not:

  • attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • scrape or harvest content in a way that places an unreasonable load on the service; or
  • republish our summaries or data as established fact without your own verification.

Intellectual property

Rights in the site's content, and the basis on which we use broadcast material, are described in our copyright & sources page.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Broadcast Prism is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page, with the date at the top updated to reflect when they took effect.

About the summaries

Broadcast Prism summaries are cross-channel consensus, not an objective account. Consensus can be uniformly wrong, or omit what only one channel covered. Topics and coverage are derived from automated transcript analysis and may contain errors.
