A Las Vegas jury convicted former gang leader Duane Keffe D. Davis of first-degree murder in the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur, the only person charged in the case. In Ukraine, Russian ballistic missile and drone strikes hit Kiev and the surrounding region overnight, killing at least 12 people, including seven railway employees, and President Zelensky denounced the attack as Russian terror.
Diplomatic efforts continued as the EU's foreign policy chief asked member states to donate expiring interceptor missiles to Ukraine. India's PM Narendra Modi urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war during a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, remarks that Russian state media largely ignored. Separately, former UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced he is standing down as an MP to focus on international affairs, including defense, security, trade, and technology.
