A GB News Tonight exclusive investigation reported that at least three public bodies – the Greater London Authority, Ealing Council, and Hertfordshire County Council – recommend an asylum toolkit from the migrant NGO Right to Remain on their websites. The toolkit includes guidance on making asylum claims, preparing for interviews, and appealing refusals, and is available in multiple languages. The programme noted Right to Remain's stated aim of a world where no one is illegal and its linked campaign describing the border enforcement regime as racist, while also reporting that the charity's services were used by 320,000 people in a year. In response, Right to Remain said its toolkit is based on official Home Office information and that it receives no government funding, while Hertfordshire Council said it does not endorse the charity's views and only referred to the resource for educational purposes; Ealing Council and the Mayor of London's office did not comment.

Reform UK's Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick announced plans to ban foreign nationals from claiming almost all benefits, including EU nationals with settled status, which would require renegotiating parts of the Brexit deal. He said the plan would save around £21 billion a year and end what he called foreign welfare rip-offs, while also proposing that long-term benefits claimants fit to work do 20 hours a week in the community or face sanctions. In a studio discussion, Jenrick argued the welfare state should be for British citizens, while GB News commentator Nigel Nelson countered that many EU citizens have paid taxes in the UK for years and deserve short-term help if they lose their jobs.

The programme also covered the case of HMP Millside, a £400 million super-prison near York with space for 1,500 prisoners but 350 empty cells because it cannot recruit enough staff, alongside other vacant cells in older prisons. This was discussed in the context of the government's early release scheme, which is set to release 470 prisoners including the killers of PC Andrew Harper. Finally, a resident of Littleport in Cambridgeshire, Steve, said his next-door neighbour's house was being converted into an HMO for five asylum seekers, near a school, and that a builder told him the property had been procured by Serco. The Home Office said asylum seekers are routinely screened before being placed, and Serco did not comment.
