Reform Party leader Nigel Farage told ITV News he is 100% certain he has never used any illicit route to receive political funds, responding to allegations from secret filming that his staff planned to accept potentially rule-breaking donations. He said he had asked whether the arrangement was above board, dismissed a claim by former staffer Dan Jukes as "loose pub talk", and acknowledged that his family had urged him to quit, describing "very thoughtful moments". He also said he did not approve of masked protests at Dover, while noting intimidation from gangs of men near hotels. Separately, bereaved parents attended the first public meeting linked to a major review into maternity service failings at University Hospital Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, which will examine more than a thousand cases dating back to 2018; the review is chaired by Donna Ockenden, and the trust said it has implemented positive changes and will cooperate with the investigation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a 72-hour pause in fighting with Ukraine as US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow for talks, with a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky scheduled for the next day. In Nepal, two people were rescued ten days after devastating floods, including a woman airlifted from a damaged house and a man pulled from a hydropower tunnel. A Greek fighter jet crashed and burst into flames near Athens at one of southern Europe's largest air shows, with the F4 Phantom reportedly losing altitude shortly after take-off.

Charged quote Sky News investigation reveals infighting in Durham Reform council
my family have always supported me until this summer. That's very hard. And suddenly... So how did you deal with that? Most of my family say, give it up, walk away. And the impact on them is horrific. So, you know, I have had, I'll be honest, when your own family start to turn on you because of what you do, some very thoughtful moments.
