A man who created a fake Tinder profile to lure men to rape his ex-partner has been jailed for eight years. Assad Hussein, 36, from Cheadle in Greater Manchester, spent months using the dating app to target the woman after she ended their short relationship because of his controlling behaviour.
Hussein set up a fake account in his victim's name, using her images and stating she had a rape fantasy. He then began messaging strangers, telling them that if she said no, they should not believe her. The men became the weapon he used to torment her. Police said at least 18 or 19 men attended her home, and it is unclear how many more had her details.
The victim came to no physical harm, but officers described the campaign as a 'terror' campaign. Hussein was eventually caught after his white Audi was captured on the victim's doorbell camera, and the registration plate linked him to the fake profile.
